What did we do for Daves' Special Birthday???

A week-end of hiking, eating, drinking, zip-lining and recovery in Hocking Hills, Ohio.  We started the week-end off by participating in a Canopy Tour in Hocking Hills, which is Ohio's First World Class Zip-line Adventure.

Suited up and ready to go!

This adventure took approximately 3 hours and we completed 10 zip-lines, traversed 5 adventure skybridges and rappelled back to ground level at the finish line all while enjoying the natural beauty of the Hocking Hills region.  We highly recommend this adventure.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!

Next stop was to find our little cabin in the woods where we spent the next 2 1/2 days.  We decided the next stop would be to find a place for a birthday dinner.  There are quite a few restaurants in the region if you don't feel like cooking.  We enjoyed our fish and steak dinners at Grouse Nest Restaurant.  The service was impeccable and it was nice having the place almost all to ourselves.

Back at the cabin, we decided to plot out the next day's hike.  It had been a couple of years since we had been hiking in the region and were quite surprised at how many bridges and walkways that had been built.  We completed 6 miles and started to get hungry and wet as it had started to sprinkle.  We drove over to the restaurant in the lodge for some lunch.  Service was slow and the food was mediocre.

peace & quiet                                                                   during the hike

Dave didn't know that Lori had another surprise in store for him, so she convinced him to go back to the cabin to crack open the wine and chill out.  The last surprise drove up the driveway - 2 massage therapists.  I figured we would be tired and achy from hiking and needed a massage to cap off the week-end.  That was a perfect way to end a great week-end!
